With a hard-to-tame and eclectic creative spirit, Sydney Clapp’s sonic pulse takes her through a wide range of sounds as she writes music. Her naturally introspective view of the world weaves together with her haunting and breathy vocals to color her songs with dark, rich and stirring tones. Her music falls somewhere between psychedelic, experimental folk and indie rock and continues to evolve. Clapp’s strong desire to let her authentic inspiration lead the way lands her on a path of continuously exploring new sounds and bending genres with each song and album release.

Clapp released her debut single Golden Air in August of 2020 followed by her debut EP Cradled by Sound released in May 2021. Her debut EP was produced by mentor and bass musician Greg Garrison (Leftover Salmon, formerly Punch Brothers) in Denver, CO. In May of 2022 she joined forces with producers Ben Wysocki (The Fray) and Kevin Matthews (Gasoline Lollipops) to record her upcoming single, Chrysalis, which will be released November 4th.

In 2017, Clapp hopped in the studio to sing main vocals alongside drummer Jim Christie (Dwight Yoakam), guitarist Dave Devine (Doors That Don’t) and bassist Greg Garrison to record a cover of John Hartford’s song Tear Down the Grand Ole Opry. This cover was featured on the 2020 album release On the Road: A Tribute to John Hartford. The tribute album was reviewed by Rolling Stone, the Wall Street Journal and Americana Highways.

She has shared the stage with groups such as Elephant Revival, Laura Veirs and Covenhoven. Her music continues to grow and she’s committed to evolving as an artist alongside her songwriting in the coming years.
